It is a very collaborative and social university, with a nice campus. Some parts of campus are outdated and would benefit from being refurbished however the quality of delivery of my course has been very good. It is a leading sports university so it has been great to be involved in this environment. There are several places to study across campus whether that is collaboratively or individually, which makes it easy to get on with work.

So far, this University has treated me incredibly well. The staff have been amazing and each accommodation is in a safe place, even off campus. I’d definitely say that if you prefer a quiet place but still want a city, come here. It’s one of the calmest places I’ve ever lived and it has around 300 coffee shops so you’ll always have a place to study. Just be mindful of the busses, I lived in Stockbridge for the first semester and they were irregular. Either they don’t come on time or they don’t come at all, specifically to South Bank (so you’ll have to walk to Westgate Leisure Centre) but if it’s nice out, the walk through town is a lot better.

Its a lovely campus feel, nice and small so you know everyone and everyone knows you. Feels very safe. However transport to and from campus isn't great and parking is difficult and expensive. Student support is okay but could be better, for example more funding to help people who need more support but who don't qualify for whatever reason for DSA support. Accommodation services could be more dynamic, and the students union are not great at catering to healthcare courses, for example we are here most of the year but they only run during term time which can feel quite isolating.

Since the university is so centrally located, there are so many things to do within a 10-20 minute walk, whether it is going to the library, bank, parks, market, or the Quayside. The student support is great. There are a lot of resources available to get help from when you are facing difficulties with your academics or personal life. There is a ton of flexibility and alternative arrangements for assessments and exams. The Student Union is insanely active. Lots of activities organized every week, with a ton of promotion on social media, so you always know what's happening on and off campus.

Lots of facilities and welcoming people. Easy to navigate and good location. However could have an increase in events to do on campus both in day and nighttime, as they have both dropped in the last year or so. The student support could be improved a lot as well.

The facilities provided by the university, the libraries cafes and the mode of study used is exceptional. I wouldn't say there's any worst aspect of the University! But probably some more Indian food can be added to the canteen's menu? Hahah.

I really enjoy the course that I'm studying. The course is really interesting and the tutors are kind, helpful and supportive. The facilities are modern and easy to find my way round. One of my favourite parts about the university is the Journalism and Media Week where guests speakers from the media industry come in to talk about there experiences and even take questions from students. What needs improving is the shuttle bus service as it is unacceptable because it's unreliable and is always late. If this was fixed the university would be perfect. I also think that tutors can sometimes overwhelm us with assignments.

Everyone is super friendly! City campus is situated perfectly, as it’s in town centre so you have access to so many different shops and places to go during your breaks! The buildings are very modern. My classroom is really cozy! Leeds itself is amazing for student life, and I can assure you that with Leeds Beckett uni, you’ll meet plenty of people to go enjoy the Leeds night life with! The support is amazing. Your teachers are always there to help you if you need it or have any questions! And the uni also offers support for many things! Including mental health and disabilities. Leeds Beckett has a great community and I would 100% recommend anyone who wants to go to university to study here!

The Stag Hill Campus is very scenic if you like wildlife, and greenery but the buildings are also modern if you like modern architecture too. It's also quiet and calming when you walk in the morning, which is relaxing. It does have steep slopes to walk up, so for commuters, it is quite exhausting (as a commuter myself). Speaking of commuting, the Guildford Railway Station is a 10-minute walk away from the University of Surrey, and you can use the Southwestern Railway to travel etc. As a foundation year student, the support I get from my lecturers has been greatly beneficial and they have answered questions greatly with clarity. I feel like I have the same access to University features as any other student, despite being a foundation year student, which is helpful when I transition into the first year. Plus it doesn't feel patronising- as other universities would put you in a partnered college (which in itself isn't bad, but for me, it would feel like I'd miss out on the university experience academically and socially). Student Life is friendly in Surrey. People typically help provide directions if you're lost (academically, socially and in a literal sense if you get physically lost). It is quiet and calming for introverts, but I will say it does get boring since it's based in Guildford- a quiet town, as opposed to a bustling city like London, Manchester or Birmingham. If you want a "nightlife experience" you might as well go to "The Rubix" for a late-out clubbing experience in Surrey. The University is close to shopping centres like "The Friary" if you need to buy essentials for your accommodation, socialise with your mates or spice up your fashion game. So there are some things to do for fun! I don't regret my decision to go to Surrey. Despite being an extrovert and loving to party, I do love looking at wildlife and scenic greenery around me. It's relaxing and gets you grounded back to reality in a peaceful manner. There's a large lake on campus with ducks, lots of squirrels on trees, and even deer if you're lucky enough to spot one on the way.
