What students say about economic-policy

The best part of my university experience has been the learning environment and independence. I’ve had access to good facilities, knowledgeable tutors, and projects that push me to think critically and work in a more professional way, especially through practical and design-based assignments. University has also helped me develop discipline, self-management, and confidence in my own ideas. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds has broadened how I think, both academically and personally.

What students say about economic-policy

One of the best parts of studying at Roehampton University is the friendly and supportive environment. The lecturers explain topics clearly and are always willing to help when students have questions. The campus is peaceful, with good facilities like the library, study rooms, and social spaces, which makes it a comfortable place to learn. I also enjoy meeting classmates from different countries and backgrounds because it helps me learn new ideas and understand different cultures. The teaching style at Roehampton makes learning easier and more enjoyable. Seminars and group activities help me understand the lessons better, and the coursework is practical, helping me connect what I learn to real-life situations. I feel that the university encourages students to think independently and build confidence. Overall, I feel supported in my studies, and this has helped me grow both academically and personally. Even though my experience has been positive, there are some areas that could improve. Sometimes the workload feels heavy, especially when deadlines are close together. Communication about certain tasks or readings can be unclear at times. More career support, part-time job opportunities, and more flexible timetables would also make things easier for students. However, these challenges are common in most universities, and Roehampton still offers a good overall student experience.

What students say about economic-policy

In my opinion, SOAS is a great place to study because of its global focus on the Middle East, its cultural and linguistic diversity, and its amazing library resources. As a student who studies Global Media, it is a tremendous opportunity, but it could be improved with more stronger career support, and beneficial financial assistance for students.

I love this uni. It’s great! What I love so much about it is how close your course is. With each year consisting of very few students you really become a family whereas, other universities you rarely even speak to people on the same course as you! The student life is good but it can be a bit dull due to the lack of student based businesses in Chichester and Bognor meaning that for anything ‘trendy’ you are expected to travel to Portsmouth or the surrounding areas. What I don’t love is the accommodation. The uni has two main off-site accomodations in Chichester and both are not nice places to live. Whilst Fishbourne has better facilities, it is a cold, dire place to live. Stockbridge on the other hand has stained carpets, showers in which you press a button for 30s of water at a time, and tiny kitchens. I am particularly disappointed in the accommodation manager, when I reported a flatmate for aggressive and threatening behaviour and asked not to be identified, he promptly told the flatmate about what I had said. This issue desperately needs to be sorted out. Overall, particularly in the Conservatoire, the uni has been dealing with some big budget cuts causing certain courses to become essentially obsolete and just made to keep funding up. This is really disappointing as it means students are being admitted to a course that wont utilise their talents therefore not preparing them for the industry that they are desperate to enter.

What students say about economic-policy

I love all the student deals. However, I feel like many of the student activity processes could be streamlined as it seems so overwhelming as a foreigner/first-year. Like, having to book a ticket, but then still waiting in line or an event being overbooked via ticketing that people are dissuaded to come. Then, when the event takes place, the ticket holders don’t even come.
