What students say about district-nursing

People are friendly on course and tutors. Good contact time with tutors. Library really nice place to study. Need more places to have lunch in John Foster building as gets full in busy times, AR library and cafe needs more refill spaces for water bottles, better signage in John foster as it’s like a maze with no floorplans! More accessible plug sockets in rooms and lecture halls as sometimes it’s hard to find them and will need laptops all day. More seating in John Lennon building for lunches as feels like there’s loads of space but not lots of space to sit down with friends during busy times between 12-1. Issue timetables in advance to give us notice and don’t change rooms at last minute.

The library is no longer 24/7 which takes away a huge aspect of the university that I liked. As someone who works late it was nice during busy periods to go over late at night and have somewhere to focus. During busy periods it was always full so I'm not sure why they've done this. It has been negatively received by everyone I know. Depending on the course, most lecturers are really nice and willing to go the extra way to help you out.

I started the BA Photography course in 2018 and finished in 2022. I found the modules interesting, and we had a good mix of arts and more commercially orientated guest speakers. The tutors were incredibly helpful and supportive and did their best to provide engaging sessions despite the disruption of covid19 during my studies there. Resources are good with plenty of studio space, a big Mac-based editing room, and a massive dark room (B@W plus colour possible). Technical support is excellent too. Certainly worth considering for an undergraduate-level photography degree.

The staff and students around the campus are always so welcoming and friendly. It really makes me enjoy where I’m studying. I think something that could be improved is the university’s response to student based issues.
