Teesside University is honestly a good place to study, especially if you’re doing something practical like engineering. The lecturers are approachable and actually try to help rather than just reading off slides. The course structure makes sense and there’s a good balance between theory and hands on work. The campus is easy to get around and the facilities are modern, especially the labs and library. There are plenty of study spaces and resources which help a lot during coursework and exams. Student support is decent too, particularly for international students and people coming through foundation routes.

Earlier in my degree there was a lot of uncertainty within the forensic cohort especially surrounding lecturer instability. We still see it now with lecturers having to teach modules that are not related to their dedicated area. However, this has not impeded my request for help and support from them but it would be useful to allocate staffing with the school of psychology to their specific area of expertise. From a student welfare perspective…the services are accessible and easy to access. They have helped me tremendously through hard times of student and balancing external family commitments.

My experience at London South Bank University has been overwhelmingly positive, and I truly believe it is a great place to study and grow as a student. Another major strength of LSBU is its focus on practical, career-oriented learning. The university provides modern labs, well-equipped classrooms, and industry-standard facilities that help students gain real-world experience. For many courses, practical sessions, workshops, and hands-on projects make learning more engaging and directly relevant to future careers. This practical approach is one of the main reasons LSBU graduates are well-prepared for the workforce. The location is also a huge advantage. Being in Central London means students have easy access to internships, part-time jobs, networking events, and professional opportunities. Public transport links around the campus are excellent, which makes commuting simple and convenient. Additionally, studying in such a vibrant, diverse city exposes you to many cultures and experiences that broaden your perspective and personal growth. LSBU is also known for its diversity. Students come from many different backgrounds and countries, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. Interacting with a wide range of people enriches both academic and social life, and helps build strong communication skills and global awareness. The Students’ Union plays an important role in making campus life enjoyable. They organise events, clubs, and societies that help students socialise, develop hobbies, and take breaks from academic pressure. From cultural celebrations to academic workshops and sports activities, the SU offers something for everyone. It also supports student welfare and actively listens to student concerns. While my experience has been largely positive, there are a few areas that could be improved to make the university experience even better. Administrative processes, such as timetabling or enrollment updates, can sometimes be slow or unclear. Improved communication and faster responses would make things easier for students, especially during busy periods like the start of term. Additionally, although the accommodations are comfortable and close to campus, they can be quite expensive because of the London location. More affordable housing options would be very helpful for students on a tight budget. Lastly, while LSBU already hosts a number of events, increasing the number of career-oriented workshops, industry meetups, and networking sessions would make a big difference. These events help students make valuable connections and understand the professional world more deeply. Overall, London South Bank University offers a strong combination of academic support, practical teaching, modern facilities, and an excellent central London location. The friendly atmosphere, diversity, and active student life create a positive and motivating environment for learning. With a few improvements in communication and affordability, the university could provide an even better experience. Despite those small areas for development, LSBU remains a great place to study, grow, and prepare for future opportunities

The university is very good, it is unexpected, as I studied in a university in Pakistan, so the experience I had there, what I saw here, it is a very outstanding type of university, its location is very beautiful, apart from that, what is there is its lecture halls, its seminars and the staff of the international business management of this university, which are teachers, they are very good, they are cooperative, they deal with international students very well, the communication style is very good, along with that, the seminars and the first lectures are in the morning, there are seminars in the evening, it is a very outstanding type, it is a structure that has been created. The most important thing is that health issues are highlighted and preferred here, and there are many other facilities here that are for all kinds of people, and there are very unexpected things that I have seen here for the first time in my life in a university.

As an international Environmental Management student, my time at Plymouth has been defined by two things: academic freedom and incredible support. When I faced significant personal loss and financial struggles that impacted my attendance, the faculty didn't write me off they gave me the flexibility to recover and succeed. The course itself is far more than just exams. I was able to lead complex, consultancy-style projects (like my work on Singapore Heat Stress policies) that felt like real professional work, not just coursework. The resources in the Marine Building and library are top-tier for anyone willing to push themselves. Plymouth offers a rare balance: it challenges you intellectually to reach distinction levels, but supports you personally when life gets hard. Highly recommended for students who want resilience alongside their degree.

i love the community - societies are great, i love how i’ve met so many people and get to do a course i love, the worst aspect is maybe how many days were in as it doesn’t see very worth it and facilities/resources for art students as we got £150 from an exhibition last year and they kept the money for “resources” however we’ve not seen any

More vegan food on campus would be appreciated but there are options. Changes to the way wellbeing works has made things difficult, for me. Support from PAT has been great but Support from studentzone/wellbeing less so. Easy access location, on a unesco site, which is such a privilege.

My experience at uni has been mostly positive. The course is engaging and the practical elements make it more interesting. Many lecturers are supportive and the facilities are helpful for studying. However, communication and organisation could sometimes be improved, as information can occasionally be unclear or late. Overall, it’s been a good place to learn and gain experience

The location in central London not far from where the UKs decisions are made is amazing. The library has most of the resources I need and if you can’t find something the library staff will happily try and make it available. The thing where the uni lets us down the most is admin.
