The support provide by lecturers is really beneficial and really in depth as well as being provided on a one to one basis. The small cohort mean class sizes are small so you gain more hands on practise and have more turns practising different skills. It also means that more support is able to be provided by tutors a that all tutors know who you are and what your skillls are. It’s a nice small city with the famous based a 10 minute walk from the city centre so everything is really close and accessible. The students also have access and availability to all equipment available in the labs to help them develop there skills and use to complete relavant assignments and projects.

Sometimes the stuff is not very helpful and looks like they don’t care. Especially at the beginning of the year when they hire students or new people to work, but they are not trained properly, so when you need help they have no idea what to answer. Sometimes they are just chatting between them ignoring you. Especially few times when I stayed long time in the queue for Nest and different departments for enrolment , students who had friends working for student union were skipping the queue

I'm an optometry student entering my third year in September 2024. The lecturers are very nice and supportive; however, the optometry students in Group C are extremely rude, disrespectful, and lack any sort of manners. Many of them speak poorly of you if you fall behind or are slow in your routine, and they refuse to collaborate despite knowing that practice is essential for skill improvement.

My university experience has been very positive overall. The teaching staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely supportive, which makes a big difference academically and personally. The course content is engaging and relevant, with a good balance between theory and practical application. I’ve also really valued the sense of community — there are plenty of societies, events, and opportunities to meet people from diverse backgrounds, making it a welcoming and inclusive place to study. The campus facilities and resources, particularly the library and online learning platforms, have been extremely helpful.

The staff are easy going always ready to help, the park is beautiful, Peel park, got here September 2025 and so far nothing negative, what impressed me the most is I can just have a quick chat with my lecturers about anything bothering in my education and personal life, as an international student it feels so welcoming, too bad I have to graduate lol

The campus is absolutely gorgeous! A wonderful mix of old and new, castles and modern buildings. Reserving rooms encourages students to get out of their rooms and study anywhere on campus, from the top of the castle tower, to the communal "pods" at Commons. The Student Union building has a bar and a small shop, and activities going on almost every day. Karaoke every other Saturday is one of my favourites. Close enough to the city of Bath for easy access, while still having the feeling of a university town. Lots of student discounts and student bars/clubs in town, as the University of Bath is also nearby. Interesting classes, lovely lecturers and guest lecturers, and proper assessments. Few, if not none, tests, allowing for those who do not thrive with simple memorization to show off how they learn. The diversity of students encourages the broadening of your own world view. A wide range of courses, allowing for study into incredibly specific topics. The main issue with the university is the wait time for wellbeing appointments, as it can take up to four months to even get a foot in the door. This means that if you do need help, it is very difficult to achieve. Also, while it isn't the university's fault, it is important to know that the First Bus system is not very reliable, so if you have a job in town, it is quite nerve-wracking.

I attended this university for my undergraduate degree over a decade ago, and I cherished my experience then just as much as I do now. Currently, I find myself in a different phase of life as a mature student with a young family. Nevertheless, I believe that the student experience and facilities continue to meet my needs, even as they differ from those I had during my undergraduate studies. Across all campuses, the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The environment is clean and well-maintained, fostering a strong sense of pride among both students and staff. Overall, the university feels safe and inclusive. I wouldn't say there is a worst aspect of my university experience, as I feel it meets my expectations at this stage in my career and life.
