What makes the university a great place to study is how nice the teachers are and willing to help students. How it could be improved is raising more awareness about opportunities that the university has especially for those who want to study in the University

What makes my uni a great place to study is their student support. They try to help their students in any way possible to ensure that students get the best out of their education. I think it would be better if the university put more effort into societies and clubs such as sporting clubs and teams . It would help the university to have more of a community and really showcase other talents other than what students already study on their courses. My university do have societies and some sporting teams, however some of the societies don’t run anymore and it’s not made to be as big as it was when I first heard about it before I joined uni. I think it’s important to have that feel of community and university culture and to also show the inclusiveness of different cultures, groups and activities in which people associate them selves with.

With the SMT once again announcing a detrimental restructure to the university, roughly around 300 teaching staff are being threatened with redundancies if they are viewed as not making a 'valuable' contribution to Goldsmiths. A vast majority of departments have been threatened with teaching and module cuts, including English, once again. It is ironic that they are saying they want to make back/ save around 20 million, yet they are looking to have an AI centre whilst neglecting the humanities departments that reside at the very heart of Goldsmiths. They do not have much care for practising free speech on campus as the SMT wanted to 'arrest' the group of us that had 1.) occupied a building on campus in protest against the way the university has conducted their weak response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine and 2.) those that actually took part in the protests that occurred on campus. How can you label your university as a 'creative powerhouse' and a 'melting pot' of ideas when you've conducted yourself in such a backward manner? The welfare team has little regard for you. I had applied for a hardship bursary, yet I was met with a foodbank voucher that could only be used on the week it was issued and for a place that was miles away from accom and only open for 4 hours on a Friday. Do not come to this uni if you are seeking a place that values academic integrity and the preservation of your course; alongside your welfare as a student. It's a shock that they can even call themselves an institution.

Diverse and engaging community allows us to explore the real world while we expecting to explore the real London. I really appreciate one thing was every approach admired and inspired us to explore the new.

All staff in university is eager to help you with any kind of questions or problems. At lectures teachers are really engaging and supportive. You never notice how quick time flies during lectures. Especially, before any assignments you are given every detail about it, so you are well prepared and not scared at all. Birkbeck suggests a lot of opportunities for busy social life, where you can meet lots of enthusiastic people, and opportunities for future career such as additional workshops, professional guests, etc. I love being a part of this community!

The best parts about this university is the distance between each campus, support available for academics and personal situations, the friendliness of the tutors and staff because they want to help. The worst parts about this university is the university bus as it is not very reliable as it comes every 40 minutes. To improve the bus service, there can be more buses available.

The university often hold different types of activities for students to participate, which allows students to get together and meet more new friends. Also, it is convenient to have a Costcutter on campus and a LIdl within a 10 min walking distance. Meanwhile if student needs help and went to the student hub, it often take a long time for queuing up to seek help.

The university provides excellent resources and support, but first-year students may initially feel disconnected. Enhancing documentation clarity and creating a more welcoming, familiar campus experience would help newcomers integrate smoothly. Strengthened orientation programs, clear guidance, and student-friendly resources can foster early engagement and a stronger sense of belonging
