Computer Graphics degrees in Eastern England

Norwich University of the Arts was my first choice when applying to university and having completed almost 2/3 years of my course, I don't regret my decision. I love the city, I love my course, I love my teachers and I love what I learn. My technical graphic skills have only developed and consolidated since the beginning of first year and are projected to continue doing so, all thanks to the community I joined.

1. Supportive Learning Environment: The university provides a friendly and inclusive atmosphere where students receive great academic support from lecturers and staff. 2. Modern Facilities: The campus is equipped with modern classrooms, libraries, and study areas that enhance the learning experience. 3. Small Class Sizes: Unlike larger universities, Suffolk offers a more personalized approach, allowing for better interaction with professors. 4. Career Support: The university provides good career services, workshops, and networking opportunities to help students with job placements. 5. Location: Situated in Ipswich, it offers a peaceful and safe environment while still having access to necessary amenities and transport links. Areas for Improvement: 1. More Course Variety: Expanding the range of courses and specializations could attract more students with diverse academic interests. 2. Student Life & Activities: While there are clubs and societies, a more vibrant student community with additional events and activities would enhance the overall experience. 3. Accommodation Costs: Housing options could be more affordable, especially for international students. 4. Administrative Efficiency: Some students experience delays in communication and processing of documents; streamlining administrative services would be helpful. Overall Experience: The University of Suffolk offers a great balance between academic quality and a supportive learning environment. With some improvements in student engagement and administration, it could become an even better place to study.

From my opinion I would say ARU is praised for its supportive staff, modern facilities, diverse community, and strong career services. However, areas for improvement include communication responsiveness, consistency in course delivery, better promotion of extracurricular activities, and some accommodation and facility concerns. Overall, it offers a positive student experience with room for enhancement in certain aspects.

The University of Hertfordshire has great facilities, but there are quite a few unnecessary procedures that could be streamlined, such as booking appointments for even the smallest matters. My experience so far has been disappointing from an academic perspective. I was expecting better quality education, but instead, most of the lectures consist of simply reading from PowerPoint slides, and the practical sessions have been far from engaging. While I understand that self-study is important, not all students, especially international ones like myself, have prior industrial experience or expertise. It's crucial that the university recognizes this and provides clearer, more detailed information about the curriculum, how exams work, and what is expected in terms of assessments. Relying solely on self-study and putting too much responsibility on the students isn’t fair, especially when we're paying for a quality education.

The best aspects would be the wide range of societies for students to join! The worst I believe would be the lack on promotion on what there is to do and what is accessible for students, such as public lectures or different rooms that can be used by students that i’ve learnt recently.
