Communication and Media degrees

The best is how the lectures are paced and supplemented with workshops. The lecturers and other staff feel very approachable. The worst I'd say is a key module is online which makes it hard to study and interact as your in your room with distractions and you can't easily ask lecturer questions without having to constantly check the chat. Time which could be used to take notes and focus on the lecture.

With the SMT once again announcing a detrimental restructure to the university, roughly around 300 teaching staff are being threatened with redundancies if they are viewed as not making a 'valuable' contribution to Goldsmiths. A vast majority of departments have been threatened with teaching and module cuts, including English, once again. It is ironic that they are saying they want to make back/ save around 20 million, yet they are looking to have an AI centre whilst neglecting the humanities departments that reside at the very heart of Goldsmiths. They do not have much care for practising free speech on campus as the SMT wanted to 'arrest' the group of us that had 1.) occupied a building on campus in protest against the way the university has conducted their weak response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine and 2.) those that actually took part in the protests that occurred on campus. How can you label your university as a 'creative powerhouse' and a 'melting pot' of ideas when you've conducted yourself in such a backward manner? The welfare team has little regard for you. I had applied for a hardship bursary, yet I was met with a foodbank voucher that could only be used on the week it was issued and for a place that was miles away from accom and only open for 4 hours on a Friday. Do not come to this uni if you are seeking a place that values academic integrity and the preservation of your course; alongside your welfare as a student. It's a shock that they can even call themselves an institution.

The location isn't the quickest to get to but it depends if you're coming from Central City Centre or from Cathays. The campus is average looking minus the gorgeous art and design building and management one. The student support is amazing so I totally recommend. You just have to grab the opportunities for real, be honest, reach out and be willing to improve and make changes. There's a fair amount of places to buy hot drinks and foof. Equally there are places to get free clean drinking water, fridge, microwave and so on. There is also a gym near the front but I havent been in yet. There is also a horse riding place nearby so its a bonus to stip by and see them on quieter days. And I love Community Days where you get free bike repairs and tasty local food. All in all, the uni is great but you gotta sacrifice a variety of shops at your doorstep or getting out of bed earlier to get to class on time.

As an international student, I struggled to find a teaching course that would allow me to study online while working a full time job. The University of Buckingham has afforded me the opportunity to study a high quality and in depth course while working full time. Their kindness and support during this process has been outstanding and has made all the difference for me. I cannot recommend them enough.

Amazing teachers! Really friendly people feel right at home and being Surrounded by people who are interested in the same thing is a great experience. The main building has a older look and diversity could be improved but they are working towards that and are culturally sensitive as a POC they do their best to make you feel seen and heard

The campus facilities are excellent and the tutors are skilled and professional. The student community is well connected. However, there isn't enough space for us all (Wimbledon College of Arts campus) and there are issues with the funding.

It is rated one of the best universities in the UK which played a crucial role into deciding universities. The campus is wonderful with many facilities for almost every interest and hobby you could imagine, placed in nature among the trees but at the same time it is so close to the picturesque town of Guildford. This town is small but has everything that a student might need and also there are so many things that a young person could do in their free time. I would definitely recommend this university because at just 2 weeks that I'm already here I feel like being at home because everyone is so friendly here which makes being a student here feeling like being a part of a small community, which i personally adore.

The worst aspect is that they are unorganised. Any of their departments are aware of what they need to actually do. They were sending me from one to another. There were many disinformation regarding exams. At the induction day I have been told I will be able to pick career pathway on my course in 3rd year. Now from nowhere I noticed - when I checked modules for my next year - that it is changed. I needed to find out myself that they have changed it and it’s not available anymore.
