I love being able to use the facilities and having access to all the tech required for my course specifically. The kit store is great, and having areas where I can go and study with everything I need is beneficial to my learning. I personally think the societies at Ravensbourne could be largely improved. It feels very much like an after thought, and the engagement with them don’t appear to exist. I think only a few societies are big, but compared to some other universities, I wish there was more hype and engagement for people to make societies, join them and connect. That’s my biggest flaw.

The best part of my university experience has been the learning environment and independence. I’ve had access to good facilities, knowledgeable tutors, and projects that push me to think critically and work in a more professional way, especially through practical and design-based assignments. University has also helped me develop discipline, self-management, and confidence in my own ideas. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds has broadened how I think, both academically and personally.

The commute links are very convenient as someone who has to travel from peripheries of Manchester .St James campus is very arranged and plentiful spaces and resources for students like myself however I must say there isn’t much of a social aspect example societies or events going on I believe due to it not being Edge Hills main campus However since my course is placement based when we do arrive to campus we naturally socialise and she one another’s experiences .Overall Univeristy social aspect is amazing considering lots of places to go since on Oxford Road Would be nice to have some events or even go to Main campus as a whole

Best aspects of studying Psychology at NTU: One of the strongest aspects is how structured and career-focused the course is. The modules are clearly organised, and there’s a strong emphasis on applying psychological theory to real-world settings, which makes the content feel relevant rather than purely academic. The teaching staff are generally approachable and knowledgeable, and many have practical or research experience that they bring into lectures and seminars. Another highlight is the range of resources available. NTU provides good access to online journals, research databases, and study spaces, which is especially useful for assignments and dissertations. The course also gradually builds your research skills, particularly in statistics and methods, which are essential for psychology but often difficult—NTU tends to scaffold this learning quite well. The campus environment is also a plus. It’s modern, well-maintained, and has a supportive atmosphere. There are plenty of societies and opportunities to get involved, which helps balance academic work with social life. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: A common challenge is the heavy focus on statistics and research methods, which can feel overwhelming—especially if you don’t have a strong maths background. While support is available, it can sometimes feel fast-paced, and not everyone finds the teaching style in this area accessible. Another downside is that feedback on assignments can occasionally be inconsistent or not detailed enough to clearly guide improvement. This can make it harder to understand how to progress between grades. Some lectures, particularly in larger modules, can feel quite impersonal due to class size. More interactive or discussion-based sessions would improve engagement and deepen understanding. Finally, like many psychology degrees, there can be a gap between theory and hands-on experience. More placement opportunities or practical exposure (e.g., working with clients or in applied settings) would make the course even stronger for those planning careers in mental health or applied psychology. The University Location is great for those who aren't fussed about city life as it is in a quiet location. I found the environment and facilities great throughout the years. The mental health team could be better, the SU can be challenging to get appointments with and the wellbeing team can be unprofessional which I didn't expect especially now there is a Mental Health Charter Award. Accessibility have been amazing though if I ever have an issues or need help with DSA related issues.

Good university with supportive lecturers and a friendly learning environment. The facilities are decent, and there are opportunities for extracurricular activities. Overall, a good place for students who want to focus on their studies.

The Best: Any clarity on studies, student life, mental health, physical fitness was easily approachable and helpful. Professors are very kind and knowledgeable. When questioned correctly they are ready to help at any extent. Access to library and fitness is very useful and maintained promptly. Ambience and location of the university is perfectly held.

The best aspect of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment and access to diverse academic and professional opportunities. Studying in a diverse community has also helped me grow in confidence and cultural awareness. The most challenging aspect has been balancing academic responsibilities with part-time work and managing living costs, especially as an international student. While support services are available, clearer guidance on financial support, employability opportunities, and tailored support for international students would further improve the overall experience. Overall, the university is a great place to study, and enhanced support in these areas would make the student experience even stronger.

There are excellent lecturers and student support services (particularly academic skills). The campus has a good feel and has a lot of outdoor seating which will be nice when the weather is warm. Lecture rooms are good but the seats are very uncomfortable. There is little impact from the students' union, for example there was no 'refreshers fayre' for January intake students, which also impacts the student life score.
