University has been a mix of incredible highs and frustrating lows. The best part has definitely been the freedom—being able to explore subjects I’m genuinely interested in, meeting people from all walks of life, and finally feeling like I have some control over my own routine. Some of the friendships I’ve made feel like they’ll last a lifetime, and there’s something exciting about the late-night study sessions, spontaneous adventures, and even the occasional deep conversations with people I just met. But on the flip side, the pressure can be overwhelming. Balancing deadlines, social life, and basic self-care sometimes feels impossible, and there are moments when imposter syndrome kicks in hard. There have been times when I’ve felt completely lost, wondering if I’m actually on the right path or just going through the motions. Still, even with the stress, I wouldn’t trade the experience—it’s been chaotic, challenging, and sometimes exhausting, but it’s also been one of the most defining periods of my life.

The support Brighton Uni has given me so much support with this course and made it very clear who to contact if any issues arise. I also know from friends how incredibly supportive and sympathetic the uni has been when they have experienced personal issues. This is my second Uni I have studied at, and Brighton is far better with the support it gives its students compared to the first one.

I think SOAS is a university that focuses on very inclusive and high-value programmes for society, but sometimes it needs to exercise these same factors in its management system. They also need a bit more order in some administrative processes.

I’m a mature student doing the BMus Music part-time at Goldsmiths. I’ve just come to the end of the full-time first year (which has taken me two years). Headline is I’d really recommend this course – it was definitely a good decision to apply. Over the first year I’ve done 5 year-long modules and coming to the end I reckon they have given me a really solid foundation as a musician in terms of my ability to play, write, analyse and think about music.

I really enjoy studying at Essex, I think it is an amazing university and I have really enjoyed my time here. It definitely has things to improve on, for example, although the facilities are mostly great, and whilst I've been here there have been steady improvements in that area (hurrah to dual monitor PCs in 1 lab). Some parts are still lacking, for example, I don't think there are enough study pods throughout the library and student centre and some rooms and buildings are just a bit tired and can get quite cold in the winter. The campus is amazing, although it is a lot of concrete, very 60s, I feel like it manages to avoid being ugly by the fact it's so green, no matter where you go you will end up walking through park land, often seeing deer, squirrels, rabbits etc. The SU is really good, but you can see it struggles with money, one of my biggest gripes with it is the lack of any real big events. Whilst almost every other uni has some form of end-of-year celebration, a ball, mini concert etc, this SU has never organised something like that. Favouring smaller events

My experience at the University of Sussex has been great so far. The courses are engaging, and the campus offers a supportive and diverse environment. It’s a fantastic place for both academic and personal growth.

WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

I've loved studying at the University of Plymouth so far! Staff are really friendly and have always been really happy to help. The SU is great for relaxing between lectures during the day as well as for clubbing on a Saturday night. I'm also really enjoying my course and Plymouth is in a great location to try out fieldwork in different habitats.

All staff in university is eager to help you with any kind of questions or problems. At lectures teachers are really engaging and supportive. You never notice how quick time flies during lectures. Especially, before any assignments you are given every detail about it, so you are well prepared and not scared at all. Birkbeck suggests a lot of opportunities for busy social life, where you can meet lots of enthusiastic people, and opportunities for future career such as additional workshops, professional guests, etc. I love being a part of this community!

I love love love the library in Town Hall (as does everyone). It’s a great place to socialize with classmates in between classes, but there’s also loads of spaces to study quietly when in need. As for some things that could be improved, it would be nice if there are some more drinking water points around campus. Additionally, some more greenery would be really great, but I understand that maybe there’s not enough space for that
