The staff and students around the campus are always so welcoming and friendly. It really makes me enjoy where I’m studying. I think something that could be improved is the university’s response to student based issues.

It’s an amazing place to study with tons of opportunities for students to thrive and learn, but the social aspect on UoN is sadly not there. A lot of people struggle to find anything fun to do here and about town as it’s a very quiet place full of mainly elderly.

Southampton Solent University is an overall great place for students to study, offering excellent facilities, supportive staff, and a diverse learning environment. The university provides a practical approach to education, ensuring students gain real-world experience alongside their academic studies. However, student life could be enhanced by offering more social events, parties, and get-togethers. These activities would help students connect, build friendships, and create a stronger sense of community on campus. With a livelier student social scene, Solent University would become an even more enjoyable and well-rounded place to study.

The staff are incredible, unbelievably understanding and supportive. They want you to succeed and you can really tell. However, Lipman building is constantly broken. The top two floors have been out of service for year and now the entire building is out of commission and not expected to be back until the summer. Surely at this point just demolish the place.

I love the campus and the atmosphere we have. its a beautiful place to study and i have enjoyed my time here. All the staff are wonderful, I have a brilliant supervisors and enjoy my course. I have learnt a lot whilst at Lancaster However, i find that the student union is broken, it does not uphold its own beliefs. The societies may work but the actual student union body is useless. it needs and overhall, and needs attention brought to the actions of the staff and how people follow their regulations.

Additionally, the campus offers an international-standard sports arena, 3G pitches, and a cricket pavilion and pitch. The University of Gloucestershire fosters a diverse student community where individuals from various backgrounds learn together while embracing university life. The Chapel at Francis Close Hall offers a tranquil space for reflection, providing mental and emotional support for students seeking peace amidst their academic journey. This inclusive environment enhances student well-being, encouraging a sense of belonging and personal growth. A potential area for improvement would be the provision of short-term university accommodation for students in need, particularly at the postgraduate level. Given the unique challenges faced by these students—such as research commitments, placements, or unforeseen personal circumstances—offering flexible housing options would greatly enhance their academic experience and overall well-being. This initiative would reflect the university's commitment to student support, ensuring that all scholars have access to a stable and conducive living environment during critical phases of their studies.

People are friendly on course and tutors. Good contact time with tutors. Library really nice place to study. Need more places to have lunch in John Foster building as gets full in busy times, AR library and cafe needs more refill spaces for water bottles, better signage in John foster as it’s like a maze with no floorplans! More accessible plug sockets in rooms and lecture halls as sometimes it’s hard to find them and will need laptops all day. More seating in John Lennon building for lunches as feels like there’s loads of space but not lots of space to sit down with friends during busy times between 12-1. Issue timetables in advance to give us notice and don’t change rooms at last minute.
