Agriculture and Horticulture degrees

The location of the uni is great - a very inviting environment all around. The main building and the SU are basically inside parks, which makes going about your day on campus quite pleasant. The lecturers and tutors tend to be very responsive and eager to help in any way they can. I haven't experienced any form of.. let's say, embarrassment when asking for help. The welcoming vibes from the faculty is just amazing. The SU is also really great! Just the amount of little events being hosted there is incredible! Almost every week you'd walk into the building, and there's a stall in the hall with people giving out free salad bowls. Stuff like that, I find, boosts the morale and the feeling of being welcomed and wanted as a student. As well as that, the countless clubs and societies are such a great ay of bringing people together. I am a part of the Traditional Crafts society, which is hosted at SU, and I've learnt skills with the society I never thought I would...like, leather binding…? Wow! I'm terms of improvement, nothing comes to mind. Perhaps, some sort of signage around campus could be great? With the amount of little tiny offices all around the Botanic, it can sometimes be really difficult to find the one you're looking for. Looking for street signs can sometimes be time consuminh and, frankly, annoying. So, like a classic arrows-on-a-pole kinda thing would be amazing!

There is a great atmosphere on campus, everyone is friendly and supportive, the facilities are amazing especially the new science and research centre. Smaller class sizes gives it a more personal approach to university life. There is an amazing support network to help you progress through your degree.

The layout of the campus is beautiful and lets in a lot of natural light which I like. Also my two favourite places, the sustainability cafe and the gym both offer great services. As for improvements, I’ve heard form friends that mental health support doesn’t respond to students concern with enough urgency.

The University has lots of resources and study spaces. I love the fact that I can borrow a laptop for 24hours. There is a lot of student support in terms of CV writing and also academic support via mentors.

I studied Fashion and Photography at Carmarthen School of Art (Coleg Sir Gâr), and both courses were fantastic. There’s easy access to all the equipment you might need, and the support from tutors is incredible. They constantly push you to go deeper with your ideas and achieve the best possible results in your projects.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Plumpton College. The university experience here is definitely unique and one to consider if you are looking at studying an animal-based degree. The class sizes are relatively small, making staff and student interaction extremely focused and personal. Teaching staff are extremely friendly and definitely play a role in making the uni experience as positive and stress-free as possible. The modules in both of the animal degrees are extremely useful for application across a series of job roles also. Because the scale of degree students - college students is extremely uneven, the facilities solely available to university students are limited but I am aware that the staff are working hard to make plans to change this.
