What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

This university provides so much for our course and other courses by ensuring the best possible facilities are up to date, in addition to the amazing staff members who provide exceptional support for us all! The worst part would be the hills however this is to do with the topography of the area and NOT the Uni! On a serious note there is possibly room for improvement with more seating areas within the library as this can become super crowded.

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

I really love a lot of things about the library. I would really recomend the English skill course for srudents. It prepares one for dessertation and project wring. But it should come earlier before final submission of assessments. -Finding a job has not been easy. -Some modules should allow for two time formative submission before final one. -Humble suggestion: caping results at 50 for reset exams has really been demoralising. Many reasons could have led to failure of the first attempt.

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

The University of Wolverhampton has multiple campuses and the 'feel' you get will vary according to the Faculty you study with. For example, if you study Education, Healthcare or Sport, you will be mainly at the Walsall campus, which is located in a very safe, affluent part of the town and has a spacious, leafy feel and lots of car parking space. In other Faculties, you will be based mainly in the city centre of Wolverhampton itself. This means your experience has a big city, 'urban' feel. Great if you like to be close to nightlife and shopping ! Libraries are at all campuses, with friendly staff who are very patient. The online access to books and papers is also fantastic if you do research and study at home. The university is popular with international students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This adds to the richness of your student experience, as you can meet and make friends with people from all over the world. Furthermore, like many of the modern, teaching universities, it has always played a central part in its local community. The university has stayed true to its 'roots' in this respect and still welcomes local students from the West Midlands and Staffordshire in the 21st century. Lots of students live at home and commute to university every day, as this represents a big financial saving for them. Again, this trend is becoming increasingly common nationally, and so may be an option for you. Part of the reason the university is so much part of the local community is its history of being the choice of university for local mature students. If you are a mature student (like me!) who is considering which university to choose, Wolverhampton will prove to be an excellent choice as it has a proven and longstanding track record in the field. Staff are very accustomed to working with students of all age groups. Staff are very experienced and very approachable. There is very much a 'caring' culture among staff at the university, which makes it a god choice if you are feeling anxious about starting at university. In addition, there is 24/7 support available for students, so there is always someone there to support you if you are experiencing any kind of difficulties. There is just one thing I would like to see improve. During term time, Monday to Friday, there used to be free buses which connected the Walsall and Wolverhampton city campuses door to door. These were stopped in 2024, and it would be good to see them back again. Having said that, there are local buses which run a similar route and they run from dawn to late Monday to Sunday !

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

There's always work to get done over the course studies so it's important for me to find a quiet spot to get through my modules, there are computer facilities and the library which are great places for this, location wise North Greenwich is an accessible area to get to, though it does take longer for me to arrive or get back to the accommodation from the uni. The community at Ravensbourne is relaxed, I've met a lot of great people studying here, plenty of events going on too for the likes of networking and work experience in the industry. The union allow for students to provide feedback which I see gets looked into. The course leader and lecturers are well accommodating and approachable, providing plenty of facilities and materials to get through the course. Overall it's been an enjoyable experience and I'm happy with my choice to study at Ravensbourne.

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

I'm currently studying BSc animal behaviour and welfare at Myerscough, the campus is lovely and the lecturers are all really understanding and helpful. The only downfalls are that the location isn't close to the town centre so it can be difficult to get to shops if you don't drive (there are buses though).

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

The teaching style is awesome, I really enjoy learning computer science and I feel like everything I'm taught can be immediately put to practice. On the other hand I'm kind of disappointed that most of the material is online and lecturers just share the material with us, but do not actually teach it in lectures.

My best experience is that the university has a caring group of staff..and they hurry to fix my concerns...my worst experience is that the SEAT App is not working properly so I will get emails about my class attendance..when I in class.. which makes me afraid that they will kick me out for no reason.

Despite its prestigious reputation, the university as an organisation has been constantly below expectations. However, the students union has been the centre of student life for me and has constantly exceeded expectations

What students say about agriculture-and-horticulture

What I realky liked is the services and facilities offered to the students. Classroom and labs have resources and the professors are close to students. The worst thing about the uni is the fact It is so isolated and that there are not always enough resources. The bus shuttle does not offer the service enough. Sometimes, there are miscommunications with the driver. Also, I find unconfortable the service stopping by in Ridley Park and obliging people to wait there for an hour even if they already wish to come back to the uni.
