I’m really enjoying my time at NTU! The academic environment is fantastic—lecturers are passionate about their subjects, and the courses are engaging and well-structured. There’s plenty of support available, whether it’s academic help, career advice, or mental health services. The social side is also a huge plus! There are so many societies, sports teams, and events that make it easy to meet new people and get involved. The campus itself is a great place to study, with modern facilities, good libraries, and plenty of study spaces.

Positive aspects: University buildings, classrooms, teachers. Negative aspects: University location, support for students. The start time of morning classes has changed due to the long distance for students. More support for students.

I love Surrey Uni!!! It is the best fit for those who want to branch out for uni and experience a whole new place but also somewhere that feels homely and nurturing. It feels familiar and not as scary as other universities felt to me upon first visit. Student well-being is great and highly prioritized. It feels like the balance between work and play is easy to uphold here. One thing would be that in certain instances when looking for certain support I keep getting redirected to different people and feel like I have to try really hard to locate the support that I need, but once I find it then it is very much there. Choose Surrey! It's a happy place.

The best part of my university experience has been the course alongside the university facilities that are on offer. When it comes to improvement, the student's union and it's nightlife could be improved.

I like that there are a lot of close by food spots, and that there are many places inside to sit down especially since the weather has been colder recently. However the lectures are a bit confusing as I’m not entirely sure what I am and aren’t supposed to know, I need some sort of curriculum.

I only just got here a week ago but everything is so great, and as an exchange student i really feel at home. I maybe only wish that there was more events for Erasmus students only so that we can meet each other!

The location is great. The buildings are modern with a lot of facilities. The Student Union is a great place for help. The only issue is the disability services. Teachers especially do not help with support for people with disabilities. It is a massive struggle to get the help you deserve

University offers intellectual growth and self-discovery through academics, diverse ideas, and independence. It’s also a place to build lasting friendships, explore passions, and embrace vibrant campus life.

The university offers great financial and mental health support. It has course reps to keep on enhancing the quality of student life, as a course I am able to communicate in meetings of problems (if any) around my course. The university keeps me well informed about anything happening at university which makes me feel like I’m part of DMU. The personal tutors make sure that they are accessible to their students. In terms of how it could be improved would be the lecture halls, to make them look more motivating.

I am pursuing a one-year master's course at Sheffield Hallam University. My academic background is in commerce; I completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). However, I have decided to transition my career into the IT industry. The IDP team assisted me in exploring various options, and I ultimately chose this program because it is specifically designed for non-computing students who aspire to build their careers in the field of computing. This course includes both theoretical classes and practical lab sessions, which are conducted one day a week. The combination of lectures and hands-on learning provides a balanced approach to understanding key computing concepts and applying them in real-world scenarios. The tutors are incredibly supportive and cooperative, always ready to clarify doubts and provide guidance. Best Experiences at Sheffield Hallam University: 1. Supportive Environment : The university offers excellent resources, such as access to advanced labs and a library with extensive digital and physical resources. 2. Practical Learning: The lab sessions are interactive and help reinforce theoretical knowledge. 3. Cultural Diversity: Interacting with students from different backgrounds has broadened my perspective. 4. Career Support: The career services team assists with CV preparation, interview techniques, and connecting with potential employers. Challenges/Worst Experiences: 1. Adapting to Computing Concepts: Coming from a commerce background, the initial weeks were challenging as I needed to familiarize myself with technical terms and concepts, also i think we need to do hard work in order to compete with existing students who already studied computing in previous studies 2. Weather: Adjusting to the cold and rainy climate in Sheffield was difficult initially. 3. Time Management: Balancing coursework and independent study requires good time management skills, especially with a one-year intensive program. Overall, the experience at Sheffield Hallam has been transformative, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to pursue a successful career in computing.
