The students at our university are the most important people on campus. Our university is very good at putting the students first and allowing them to have their say. Furthermore, there is a multitude of opportunities for staff and students to work together making the campus feel more like a community. I myself have worked with the Comms; Events; People and Wellbeing teams allowing me to form close bonds with facility.

The best aspects break down two points. The first thing is the harmonic settings between natural and artificial aspect. The second thing is warm-hearted help from the Exeter Guild assistants. The trouble from me will be improved by them with warmed mentality. The worst aspect is about purchasing some useful electronic tools, such as UK phone recharger plug. It was somewhat doable for me to find phone recharger cables in the Uni market, yet not the plug. For international students who have not used the UK plug in their countries may get trouble in use the recharging service in the University.

The staff as well as the students create a great environment that is supportive, safe and nurturing. The subjects taught are very relevant to the modern world. I appreciate that there’s class only 2 times a week, it frees us to do a lot of other activities. The location of the university is great for both bus and train travel. However I feel a sense of paranoia as I feel like I’m having more fun and free time than I should. It would be great if I could have more work to do during the week that’s related to academics. Just from comparing the schedules with other universities like Surrey Business School, where they have block classes for 2 weeks and then a short break for them to do assessments. They had assessments due in the 3rd week itself whereas it was after 2 months for us. Another thing I wanted to address was the points system in the refectory, 10 points is simply not enough for 3 full meals a day. I would suggest a change in the value of points or maybe have 14-15 points a day and maybe more during the weekends.

I have enjoyed my study here at Richmond. The other reviews listed here are talking about the old campus which I didn't experience, but now the school has moved to Chiswick Business Park which is very modern and clean. The school is in one building which is easy to navigate, however its pretty small and sometimes its hard to find study spaces on busy days. The Fashion teachers are very credible and knowledgable as many of them also teach at London College of Fashion and the University of the Arts London. I can't speak on other majors, but all of my fashion teachers were lovely and easy to get in touch with about fashion internships around London. The student accommodation offered was great, the only con was that it was far from campus, but in terms of London life it was a good location to get around the city.

Great atmosphere and professors - they are very understanding and look out for your best interests. To improve, having more weekly classes to consolidate content and contact time with professors would be great.

I love YSJ because the staff are really welcoming, i like the food in the canteen and the feel of the uni. It could be improved by having more social events throughout the year instead of just freshers.

I feel that I have still learned a lot, but many of the assessments have been changed from practice assessments to essays or tests. I just can’t wait to be on campus because I know it will be so much better. I can’t give a proper opinion until I see what everything is like for myself

Honestly, one of the best things about my university is the community. I love that I’m surrounded by people from all sorts of backgrounds and countries, so you’re constantly exposed to different cultures and perspectives. It’s given me the chance to build friendships with people I’d probably never have met otherwise, which feels pretty special. Academically, the professors are a real highlight too. Many of them bring real-world experience into their teaching, which makes everything feel more relevant. They’re also super approachable – I was surprised by how open they are to meeting after class or during office hours to go over material or discuss ideas. This level of support has definitely helped me build confidence and grow academically. Also, the campus itself is a big draw. It’s really well designed, with plenty of study spaces and nice areas to relax, and there are always events going on, so it’s easy to get involved or just unwind with friends. I feel like this balance of academic and social life is something they really got right. Areas for Improvement: That said, like any place, there’s room for improvement. For one, the administration can be pretty slow and sometimes unorganized. Things like scheduling, paperwork, or getting help from student services can sometimes feel like a headache. There were times I’d wait days for a response to simple queries or had to jump through hoops for things that seemed like they should be straightforward. Another downside is the cost of living. Accommodation, food, and just about everything else around campus are expensive, which adds a lot of stress if you’re on a budget or don’t have financial help. It would be amazing if there were more affordable housing options or better support for students struggling with costs. Overall Tips: If you’re considering this uni, my advice is to jump into campus life. The more you get involved, the easier it is to make friends and feel at home. At the same time, be prepared for some administrative hurdles – knowing this going in can help you stay patient and plan ahead when dealing with the admin side.
