Campus is nice and has lots of green space, you r close to the city centre but student accommodation and campus still feels separated and has a nice community feel

There is a lot of variety, first year gives you limited option as you need a grounding in both human and physical geography but after that the degree is very flexible in terms of optional modules, contact hours are not super high so your timetable is also very flexible

Our block was recently refurbished and has great facilities, kitchen is very nice, rooms are great and havev lots of storage space, have had some silverfish though

The best aspects of my uni experience are definitely my facilities and my access to opportunities. Southampton is a great uni for marine biology specifically and has access to so many incredible resources. The worst aspect of my uni experience is my mental health. While it was clear where I could find mental health support it was slow, inconsistent and ineffective.

Some modules, such as marine vertebrates, are exceptional and generate a lot of enthusiasm amongst both me and my peers. The resources available to us also allow for some interesting activities such as boat trips. To improve this course I'd suggest making the compulsory field courses optional as they can be a nuisance or a stress for a lot of students and instead making greater use of local resources such as those at nocs (perhaps combing current research at NOCS with student activities to almost act as direct work experience).

Very good location if you are using the NOCS campus, very good bus connections. Can get quite hot/cold, laundry services are too few for such a large capacity and need improving.
