Incredible university experience, great and wide range of societies and clubs which are suitable for everyone and anyone. Would always recommend The University of Leeds to anyone, fantastic facilities and wide variety of courses.

Coming from Bath, I find it quite difficult to be so far away from home but I am thankful that Leeds is such a great city, it makes the difficult times slightly easier.

There is a Nightline telephone service for students who wish to call and speak to someone about any problems they are facing. The organisation is run by trained student volunteers so they have the necessary listening skills and can empathise with you being the students that they are. Although not directly linked to the university, the Leeds Medical Student Practice also run a really good service. You can book appointments to see doctors on the day.

Leeds is a nice compact city where everything is within walking distance from each other. I also love how many students there are in Leeds so many places cater to the needs of students; even small independent shops and cafes offer a student discount and there are many privileges of being a student here.

I have joined the Kickboxing society which I really enjoy because it is a new experience for me and I like trying new things, the socials are also a great way to get to know new people.

The lecturers all specialise in the subject they teach which means they can bring a whole new level of knowledge to what we are learning about, rather than just reading information off a PowerPoint. I wish there were more seminars and interactive workshops as these are only on every fortnight, virtually all my other lessons are in the form of lectures and so it can get quite tedious. There is not enough engagement in what we are learning.

I love my accommodation, I live in Central Village and it is literally a 10 minute walk to the city centre and to the uni. The only problem I would raise is in the kitchen where there is no extractor fan and no doors or windows you can open which often leads to triggering the fire alarm.
