Newcastle is a brilliant city to live and study in. However student support and the student union let it down.

Lecturers won't respond to your emails and contact time has been sub-par, encouraged by the pandemic and strikes.

Newcastle as a city provides the perfect balance of the promise of a good time whilst also being a very beautiful city. It is smaller city compared to other large northern cities in England which is quite nice and gives it a safer feel. Student inhabited areas of Newcastle: Jesmond, Sandyford and Heaton are lovely and feel safe whilst also having the cheapest rents in the country. Student Halls are also much cheaper than Halls in the rest of the country whilst also being very new and so very nice accommodation.

Value for money is great, although expect to fight for your place against students who have just left boarding school. This accommodation seems to be very popular for 'rahs'. Expect to be surrounded by Southerners who haven't learned to cook, clean or some basic manners. Also, expect the shared bathrooms and kitchen to be difficult, although a big learning experience and just that. An experience.
