Heriot-Watt is extremely career centred and their career services seem to have genuine passion in terms of making sure students are building up their career skills throughout their time at university so they are ready to jump straight into the workplace, jumpstarting their career.

Our course is taught entirely in-person with a good amount of lecture hours per week. Some lecturers record their lectures so people who have missed them can catch up which is extremely helpful even just from a revision stand-point.

Edinburgh as a city is full of students and is great for nightlife as well as finding something to do on days off. public transport is fantastic and generally reliable.

The halls are very modern and open which provides an inviting place to both study and rest. The kitchen could be better outfitted with a toaster and microwave, especially at the cost compared to other similar halls in the country.

Heriot-Watt University Dubai stands out for its inclusive community, cutting-edge facilities, and strong academic focus that prepares students for real-world challenges. However, the compressed semester schedule can make managing the workload overwhelming. Spacing out the curriculum or offering more support during peak periods could make a significant difference.

The best aspect of my course is that it offers opportunities to learn a wide range of concepts and practical skills. However, the short semester duration makes it extremely challenging to manage the workload effectively. This often forces me to focus on studying just to pass, rather than fully understanding and learning the material in depth. Extending the semester length could enhance the learning experience significantly.

I like everything about the university’s halls; they’re comfortable and well-maintained.
