My experience at dBs has been unique because I joined the dBs. family on the Acess to HE course which I was part of in Cornwall, the centre was smaller and very focused on the production aspects of music but at FE there was more of a focus on music and theoretical practices it was really good to be taught there by the staff in Cornwall because there approach as far as the presentation of written research-based work and the practicality was really strict with us so the foundations where set in that initial year. so the progression from Cornwall to Bristol was much easier than imagined the staff and approach to the more academic side of my course was a really stringent procedure but throughout this process i felt supported in my learning style since coming to Bristol at HE level. I have been diagnosed and assessed as having learning difficulties these learning difficulties were accepted this was something in an example that dBs helped me with personal and from speaking to other universities i didn't feel the same kind of individual additional support and acceptance all the staff teachers and technicians and support staff and administration and management all are easily accessible and will contact students directly the queries are always answered and you feel listened too as a student at dBs it is really important to state that it is a technical institution so there is a specialist technical staff who believe in the dBs Ethos to accept all different people from all walks of life with different backgrounds and academic and technical ability which is transferred from the Plymouth and Cornwall centres alike this experience is very unique to this University and the focus on innovation in sound and production is the focus here so with that is in mind.

The lecturers have been very accomodating of every query, if in the rare occasion they were not at any point able to cope with our query they sent us to other lecturers or arrange workshops for student/students that specialise in their expertise of different arrangements have been made . the course has been very fluid in this respect it has given me the opportunity to explore and research in-depth my field of study which is music for film and tv . in example a teacher was regularly asked about using Modular synthesis and the next term the teacher arranged several workshops and one 2 one sessions on Modular synthesis and how it can be applied to film.

Bristol is an excellent place for music and there is a pletora of places in every genre of music and social groups and networks that people will advise you on people are very accomodating in the Bristol area and are very helpful and will point you in the right direction. and the groups of people are very accommodating all across different cultures and communities.
