AUB is a really good university, being such a small campus compared to other universities it give it a more community like feel where you tend to recognise a lot of strangers from different courses and classes which helps a lot of students, especially international ones feel as though they aren’t alone as it is quick to build friendships. The courses are well informed and put together, the leaders make sure everyone knows who they are so if you have a problem you’re able to speak to the right people and they’ll do what they can to help. The lessons have good content taught to you often by people already working in the fields you’re doing your lessons in, so it’s advantageous to you that your teachers are already established and practicing artists as they understand what the current market is like and how to best present yourself and your work moving forward. Overall I do really recommend Arts University Bournemouth it really is a welcoming university that’s trying its best to provide you with everything you need to be successful you just need to put yourself out there and make use of all the facilities out there

The course that I’m studying (foundation) is a two day a week course, where you can choose to take an optional dual qualification (creative technologies) which I did meaning I’m in for three days each week. Then there is an online day presented by your teachers on team , catered around giving you career advice, UCAS help or just exploring genuinely interesting artists and how methods have developed. I do think the time is spread well and contact with your tutors and other teachers if good as atleast in my experience every lesson they go around asking about your projects and work seeing if you need some help or guidance which is appreciated. Though ofcourse because it’s a foundation course if you’re doing it but have always deferred a place so you assist have that acceptance some of the lessons are really boring with pretty much every online lesson being about UCAS applications and you just kinda have to sit through it and listen to information that’s not relevant to you, so that is a downside but I do see how this is very helpful for other people who didn’t get the grades to be accepted onto the course they want or are a mature student wanting to try something out, so while it’s not for me it’s still a useful practice for most of foundation.
