The University of Nottingham has such a beautiful campus filled with lots of green space and a lovely lake with lots of wildlife. It isn't too far from Nottingham City Centre with just a short bus or tram ride over to the abundance of shops, cafes and bars to explore. The staff at the University are all so welcoming and helpful, always willing to support you or guide you in the right direction. The Moodle page is always up to date and clearly signposted for you to navigate around and find the right lectures and additional resources you might need to help you with your assignments. The libraries are filled with all the books and resources you might need or you can access them online, whichever suits your needs and helps you study to the best of your ability. The university has numerous societies and sports clubs which help you meet like-minded people and let you take your mind off your degree and participate in hobbies you enjoy or experience new hobbies and activities you've never done before.

The Social Work BA course only has a max of 40 students each year, meaning the lectures and seminars are safe spaces to share your thoughts and ideas with people you get to know well over your 3 years. I prefer the smaller class size however have had some lectures with other courses meaning over 100 people in one lecture theatre and you are still able to share ideas and opinions on topics asked (if you are feeling confident to do so). There is a range of assignments from creating posters, working in teams, practical placements, essays, PowerPoint presentations and an exam. Which helps develop different skills and doesn't just rely on you being able to do one assignment style.

University halls are a great way of meeting numerous people and making lots of new friends. Having common areas and dining halls where people can gather and meet is fantastic. You have to put yourself out there and not be afraid of what you think could go wrong (because you might just be overthinking). Remember everyone is in the same boat as you and are just looking to make friends too! Rutland is just over the road from the David Ross Sports Centre so is great if you are looking at getting a gym membership or joining a sports team. It's also right off the Downs where people gather to soak up the sun and relax in summer. There is a common room with a pool table, library and study bar to join friends and work in. The dining hall is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has many food options for all dietary needs.

It’s a great place to study as it has such a homely and welcoming feeling, the staff are supportive and are able give as much help as they can, it is also a friendly environment and easy to get along and talk with people around the university or those just on your course. There are a range of facilities which are located in the student union and around campus, as well the campus is easy to navigate. The university could improve on being abit more modern as the buildings seem to be an older build and prices can be slightly high but apart from that it’s a very good university

Overall, there is small content for my course making it a lot easier to manage when it comes to assingments, all of the social work lessons are in person which is great as it gives you a proper feel for the university and be able to get to know your lecturer as well as them being able to know you. The days are not long and it tends to go very quickly and it is interesting (if this is the sort of course you are wanting to participate in)
