Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at KCL is one of the world leading research institutes in mental health related issues. I am very happy to learn with my classmates from different backgrounds and diverse experiences related to mental health and also from the prominent lecturers who have lifetime expertises in the field. One thing I’d like to point out for improvement is related to student support. A long wait for a single reply puts off students in need.

The admin team can be very difficult to contact. It isn't easy to get any administration issues resolved, they may never get resolved unless it's to do with tuition or stopping you from starting placements. However, lecturers are very supportive and easily reachable by email.

I haven't had to use the facilities that much. Only been in for 3 face to face training sessions. The facilities were clean and fully equipped.

I personally haven't had to use any extra support. But hearing from other students the ease of access to these services if needed

Due to covid the course has been taught via Teams. This has been convenient for me as a masters student as I am able to juggle student life along with other responsibilities I have. The lectures can sometimes be fast paced and hard to follow but the lecturers are reasonable and will answer any questions as you go along. The course being online makes it easier to ask questions as you just type it in the chat box which reduces anxiety. The marking scheme can be quite hard and the 2 strikes system on failure is quite rigid and daunting.

King's is a reputable university with direct links to some trusts. As a student, whilst on workplace, if a team likes you, you may be offered a job even before qualifying.
