The most meaningful aspect of my university experience has been the transformation in how I understand both the world and myself. I have become more reflective, more aware of inequality, and more conscious of the ethical responsibility that comes with supporting vulnerable individuals. Engaging in discussions with peers and applying theory to real-life practice during placement has made the learning deeply personal. It has helped me move from passive understanding to active professional formation. At the same time, this journey has also been emotionally and intellectually demanding. There were moments when I questioned my capability, particularly when faced with critical feedback or when observing the complexity of people’s lived experiences in practice. Social work education requires emotional presence, critical thinking, and resilience all at once, which can feel overwhelming.
