Not enjoying the student lifestyle however course + lecturers are really good and supportive

Not really what I wanna do but requirement for my further years

I really really love Essex, I love the campus, I love how close it is to all the nature, I love the design of the squares. The only two things I would say is that 1. Everything closes on the weekends, almost all of the food outlets, a lot of the buildings get locked up and the library closes super early compared to in the week. As a night owl, I really wish the library was open overnight on weekends (but at least the Silberad centre is still open) and 2. A lot of the time when I have an issue, I’m not really sure who to speak to about it. Within my course, I definitely do. As a rep I have pretty good communications with the department but outside of that, if there’s an issue, I don’t really know who to go to. Like a lot of the time I’ll go to student services and they’ll redirect me but I think maybe it would be helpful if you made people generally more aware of who to speak to about their specific concerns

I really really enjoyed my placement

Our accommodation is such bad value for money, things break constantly, we’ve had two water leaks, one that almost broke my laptop and one that meant we had to be evacuated for a week. When we report issues to reception they very rarely, if ever get fixed. The price is absolutely astronomical for any room of this size but especially considering the quality. We’re moving into the Maltings next year, there’s absolutely no way we would stay here.
