the area is beautiful. everything is very close together and easy to find.

you can arrange one on one time with a lecturer if you need more guidance so you pretty much get as much contact time as you need. there are several libraries on campus and they're all really good. pretty much every single lecturer is gonna find a way to shoehorn their own works into their teaching, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something i've noticed. there's a decent variety of different modules but they're not all that interesting, but come second year you get different options.

my shower doesn't drain correctly. my bathroom as a whole was unclean when i got here. my friend's toilet door doesn't shut correctly and he's got silverfish. the cleaners will leave notes telling you to empty your bin when it isn't full, i went home for a week and they turned my freezer off, wasting all my meat. in my experience, most of the halls receptionists are difficult and snarky. but the building itself is in a great location, and you get all the bare essentials.

It's beena challenging experience. The best aspect of the course so far has been the creative writing part of it. Accommodation is a bit expensive… Union is helpful and uni itself offers a range of support. I think the university should provide more cafes!
