The campus is wonderful and the facilities provided are excellent as well. But often it's hard for newer and specifically the postgraduate students to fit into the student life as most of it is directed towards the undergraduates

My course is wonderful as well except for the times when there exists a slight bias towards the local students

It's very cosy but has small structural problems being an old building

The Creative Writing department is amazing. The extra opportunities and activities available are brilliant. However, the uni feels dominated by students from very privileged backgrounds and a lot of the student culture involves high levels of classism, racism, and ableism.

The content of the English department modules often feels very outdated. It is dominated by colonial texts with little acknowledgement of multicultural writers or international influences on contemporary British writers. There is little contact time but this is substituted with reading material.

I feel supported as a student with accommodation requirements. The maintenance team are usually very responsive and the reception team are great. I do think we deserve compensation for issues that occur in the building though.
