Anyone considering studying creative writing should definitely consider attending BCU. The modules are engaging, the lecturers are diverse in their expertise, with extensive experience, and there are plenty of writing opportunities beyond core modules.

The course is taught through lectures, seminars, and workshops. The lecturers are incredibly helpful and always have time for their students. Throughout the year many opportunities for 1-2-1s occur.

It’s a really welcoming environment. My lecturers are the nicest and are extremely helpful. The campus has a lot of resourceful available to you. Everything is very modern and high tech.

I wish that we had more course hours. I really enjoy my screenwriting and storytelling lectures, but I’m only in for six hours a week with those. My lecturers are lovely and really helpful. I enjoy the little exercises we do in class to help with our scripts- we did a particularly good one last week about developing character. However, finding a job in the creative industry is very tough. I hope as we progress on the course, we will be given more help in learning how to pitch effectively and network.

My halls is very modern and very nice. Maintenance are fairly quick and friendly. The staff are helpful and kind. The room allocation is ok, it’s just that I’ve been put with some proper dirty people. It would be nice to have a hoover in our kitchen (as I know other halls have.) But, all in all, everything is in walking distance which is really useful, and there’s an Asian supermarket next door!
