Overall, university has been a very new and fun experience. Most topics are very informative and the tutors provide us with fun activities to help us learn new things. Feedback on my coursework has helped me improve my quality and achieve higher grades than anticipated. My learning environment has helped me feel safe and more like I am part of the group.

The facilities are very high quality and provide me with a comfortable environment where I can study effectively.

Feedback on coursework is very beneficial and has helped me improved my work quality, including my ability to reference sources and manage my time.

The Student Union is very welcoming and has a wide range of activities that help us feel part of the community.

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
My university is quite far from where I live, yet it is easy to travel to; and I am able to use public transport to get there on time.

Overall, there is a good variety of societies

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
Our tutors give us online quizzes which are very fun and help us remember correct information related to the subject.
However, some lessons involve reading journal articles which can be very long and sometimes make me lose concentration. There are also not as many practical activities as last year, which I believe would help us expand our knowledge further.

They offer a wide range of work experience opportunities that help expand my career path and give me more ideas of what jobs I want to do in the future.

I have had a great experience with Solihull college and Oxford Brookes. All of the staff are very helpful and understanding. i feel i have surprised myself with their help and have been achieving grades that i wouldn't have expected to get.

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
Everyone is very supportive and helpful, i can contact my personal tutor, course leader or teachers with any concerns/ questions and they always reply and offer advice. I feel that they have been incredibly supportive and genuinely want everyone to be the best they can be.

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
We have a student rep for the whole course and a student rep for our year, they meet twice a year with any concerns. i feel that my voice is heard if i have any issues or recommendations.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Yes it is, Solihull centre is only a 10 minute walk away and only a 15 minute drive from my house.

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I enjoy the mixed aspect of practical/ theory/ self taught. I feel it is important to have the self taught/ research sections as this helps us to become self motivated and manage our time effectively.

Yes, they have careers advice available and hold careers events. as part of our course we have to secure a placement which helped me to get a job with my placement, the staff are always there for advice and there are tools available to help write a CV.
