All the staff are amazing and really helpful as well as encouraging, kind & understanding of any difficulties students might be facing. The course is really interesting and quite challenging at times, but also achievable so you don’t lose hope. There are a lot of new and modern touches to the campus and they always seem to be trying to improve to be more environmentally sustainable and also modernising. My only complaint is that food prices do seem to be a bit steep with each rasher of bacon, sausage or hashbrown costing 75p each making a sandwich add up quickly compared to even a services, and any lunch meal costing £4.50 without a drink. Coffee prices are reasonable and with the Moves+ app you can earn free coffees and traybakes for walking so many steps which is a fun idea. Overall a great place to go!

Once the vet school has been built, it will be much better, unfortunately as a first cohort we do feel a bit like spare parts trying to find spaces in classrooms and having to split groups for practicals and such, but they do very well with what they’ve been given to work with. If the campus was more pet/dog friendly it would get the full 10 out of 10 for me. A vet school that isn’t dog friendly just seems rather silly to me, so hopefully UCLAN will rethink the no dogs policy they currently have. While the school has gone out of their way to get specialists to teach us different subjects, occasionally accents and the cultural differences of talking speed make it hard to follow some subject lectures, but normally there are PowerPoints and workbooks uploaded online if one does struggle understanding certain lecturers. All tutors are very kind and approachable, they will take lots of time out of their day to explain something you’re struggling with.
