There’s many facilities we can use, but living far from campus isn’t the best, so maybe get more public transport to and from the uni for students who live a bit far would be better.

The professors are great, although for a couple modules the mock tests should be more similar to the exam.

Love the student life, and SU, many events and shows are organised and well executed by the SU, many shops, restaurants, bars and even prayer rooms available. Campus isn’t really inviting, rather dreadful to be honest even though some facilities like the Sports facility, SU NightClub, Lecture halls computer labs and Library are incredible the University also truly excels with student and staff wellbeing facilities and also open and private study spaces. Campus security and cleanliness is also top notch. Classes are decent, not very interesting or captivating though, and you will most likely spend your entire First Year trying to navigate the maze that is Colchester Campus. Finally, for paying as much the students do, we should be allowed to decide whether or not we want to truly take advantage of the opportunity, if one is already knowledgeable in a domain and still wishes to study it no matter which level they choose to study, they should be able to do so and not be rejected on the basis that they’re “too knowledgeable”.

Lots of courses are somewhat misleading, or at least much broader and therefore less interesting than the title would suggest, once again too much emphasis on group work. Very very demanding on international students who may have not gone to college first and are overwhelmed with workload, attendance expectations, and requirements. Lecturers are very kind and understanding though, often times they’re the only reason one may come to classes. Department of Language and Linguistics is very difficult aswell, from numerous classes a week to loads of homework and tests. Sure university is not a daycare but even rigour and hard work should be to an extent.
