It has been a fun, exciting and stimulating experience overall, the university also adapted well to covid-19 regulations, providing teaching materials and support to help as through our course, as well as providing me personally with financial support when I was having trouble of that kind in my third year.

The library was fantastic, as well as Moodle and other online services.

We received a great deal of support, sometimes more from some ataff members than others, and many of them seemed to genuinely care.

We were mostly able to get what we needed in terms of support and learning, but some lecturers were better at this than others. We were mostly able to contact tutors when we needed, and had our own issues and mental health taken into account, and the lectures and seminars were often fun, interesting and interactive.

The careers service gave me a great deal of careers advice, and we got some guidance on our courses, including having a CV and cover letter in an assessment.

The University of Portsmouth is a fantastic university which is brimming with opportunities for students. I chose to study here as I felt at home the day I looked around, and I found the amount of post and emails they sent out to be comforting and made me feel really welcome. Portsmouth is buzzing with student life, and who wouldn't want to study by the sea?!

Excellent uni facilities. I especially like our massive library and our specialised computer suites available with all the latest technology.

There is loads of support available for students. Whether you go to the student union or the well being department, you will always feel welcome to talk through any personal problems you might be having. If you are struggling with your work you can also get help with your written work with the Academic Skills team.

The student union put on a range of great events for students and staff and make us feel very welcome. There is also a lively atmosphere in the student union bar in the evenings and on weekends!

The city is very much a student based city. There are lots of great pubs and there are some clubs in the centre of town too. As a drama student I appreciate the two big theatres in Portsmouth as well.

The Uni have loads of clubs and societies available. They even have things I have never heard of like Octopush!

I couldn't ask for better lecturers! We have a really friendly bunch of staff who are all experts in their fields. They have given me loads of support with my work and are very engaging. My drama and performance course offered me a quite unique course to what I found on offer when searching different universities. I like the contemporary practises we study and I've gained a lot from this degree course.

The University's Purple door recruitment department is a high quality service which supports students in finding graduate jobs, part time work, volunteering and internship opportunities and gives lots of advice when it comes to writing CVs and covering letters. I feel fortunate knowing that this service will be available for up to 5 years after I graduate as well!

With the uni accommodation having been refurbished within the last few years, you will find most of the halls to have en-suite rooms, nice communal areas and are mostly all within walking distance to the university buildings. The student village is the only accommodation which isn't within easy walking distance, but a free bus service is available to students every 20 minutes up until midnight in the week. You also get loads of support when looking for student housing in your second and third year. I lived in Rees Hall in my first year which is a beautiful building (used as a hotel in the summer) which is right by the seafront!
