The setting is very relaxed, never too busy and the library is easy to find a quiet spot. The Starbucks and the sanctuary restaurant have some lovely food with nice staff. It’s very quiet due to the prices. Not all meals are expensive though. The lecturers are all very supportive and it’s rare for them to ever be off work. Moodle has drastically improved this year but still needs a complete overhaul. Assignment briefs don’t always match the lecturers idea of what should be included. It is clear many aspects of the Moodle design are 3 or more years old, incorrect links, old sources. However some new staff have been working hard to correct this as they take over modules. Three group assignments in the first semester of the second year of the non qts education degree, this seemed like it hadn’t been discussed between the lecturers. The timetables have been very good with only around 9 hours of lectures a week. No late evenings with the earliest start at 9 (seats attendance app marks you in late after 9.15). All students I have met are very friendly and the student support for additional courses like referencing or writing is brilliant. A good place to study where the staff all seem genuinely happy to be there.
