I really can honestly say I am very happy at Huddersfield. I have previously been a student for 4 years at Leeds University and the difference between how students and staff are treated is shockingly better here at Huddersfield. The gold awards for student satisfaction does not suprise me. As a disabled student recovering from cancer I have been so supported and encouraged. Its been actually at times overwhelming compared to my previous experiences elsewhere. I love the appearance of the university, I especially love charles sykes. I feel this is calmer for me and my anxiety compared to the library which often has lift issues. I would love to see a study space within that building for education students to be able to access. It is also closest to the most disabled parking. The disabled parking spaces at charles sykes i think there is 2, doesnt have number plate recognition for disabled students, I hope this is something that could be looked at in the future. I also feel there is a lack of representation for older students, or parents who are studying. I have twin girls and I feel like the only parent sometimes. But mostly my experience is great and fantastic and I look forward to coming to study every day. Another suggestion could be that room sizes can sometimes not be proportionate for the class size. For disabled people like me, it would be more beneficial to have most of our lectures within the same buildings.

3 days per week is great for me as a older student with children and a home to manage, it also fits around students who have to work. I would say, having timetables late prevented me from being able to organise wrap around school childcare, which is annually applied for, resulting in my entire year being difficult for childcare which has left me at a disadvantage compared to others. Also changing the days we come in also is a struggle. The content on the course is very interesting, the course lead is phenomenal. She has been engaging, supportive and consistent throughout and I am so pleased we have her (Kat Simpson). She has gone above and beyond to help in various ways to support us in our studies and even self confidence. I think some modules need reviewing such as theories and strats, I dont think it needs the time frame it does, I think it can be done to the same high standard in a shorter period. We currenly have a month of 3 days at uni, 2 days at placement 2 exams and 3 assignemnts due in, then our timetable goes very quiet for the rest of the year, this has causes alot of stress and actually doesnt make alot of sense, I dont believe it will enable us to produce the standard of work we are capable of due to workload. I feel placement being moved to the month after would result in better self -care, confidence, productivity and grades.
