Birmingham Newman University has got to be the most friendly, student oriented university around.Despite the expected nerves , from my very first day I was instantly put at ease. The older students and staff greeted new students with warm, welcoming smiles and were more than happy to answer any questions. I am studying primary education (3-11) and my experience on this course so far has been outstanding. Lectures are so helpful and really get to know their students. Ample help and support is offered should this be needed. Lectures and seminars are engaging, informative and enjoyable. I look forward to returning to university each week. The facilities are excellent, with a Starbucks and bistro on campus you will never go hungry! Above all, I would wholeheartedly recommend Birmingham Newman University to anyone who enjoys a community feel, smaller class sizes and campus. I cannot wait to see what the next 3 years entails at this wonderful establishment.

My course is excellent. We have access to all powerpoints after a lecture on Moodle to ensure no content is missed. Teaching styles are varied making lectures and seminars engaging . Good relationships are built between lectures and students and they really try to get to know each student as an individual.

Birmingham Newman is a small uni with a family feel to it, which allows you to settle into the university faster. The university offers a range of support to pupils, whether this be academic or personal issues. On my course we are assigned a APT (Academic Personal Tutor) who can help you throughout your course. Through having a strong support network, I have managed to settle into university faster.

The course is very supportive as the staff want to help you succeed, they are always available to help you. Although some of the facilities could be better, for example having a set early years environment could help those on the course interested in that career path.
