The statistics department specifically has provided me with a lot of support and run a lot of events to help with careers and my studies which I have found very useful. However, I have found certain aspects of student life hard because there is still a lot of focus on drinking and at Warwick specifically "circling" which I don't really enjoy.

Lots of contact hours which can feel overwhelming but is also helpful. "Stats café" that's run every week for stats students is great as it provides somewhere where students can work together on problem sheets and also get a free lunch. I do find some of the larger lecture theatres harder to learn content in because with my course being heavily maths based, there's a lot of writing on the blackboard but it is often hard to read this, especially in L3 or later on in the day when the blackboards are already quite dirty with chalk.

Arthur vick (and accommodation at Warwick in general) is really expensive so it's hard t necessarily justify it being value for money because of the high price. However, I do really love my room here: there's plenty of storage, lots of space, large wardrobe and a decent sized ensuite as well. While you do share a kitchen with quite a few people, the kitchen never feels too crowded and having 2 hobs, ovens and sinks is really great but it would maybe be better if there was an extra microwave. Considering the price that you pay for arthur vick compared to other unis, it would also be nice to have a TV in the kitchen to make it more of a social area. The main thing I haven't enjoyed about my time in halls is my experience with my flatmates. I don't feel like the accommodation team matched me up very well with those that who are living in my flat because I am the complete opposite to most of them so find that a bit frustrating at times.
