I have mixed feelings over my time on this course. The people who work there, are absolutely brilliant and will help you at the drop of a hat to succeed. However, the archaic structure of the course means it doesn't allow you to reach full potential in my opinion. A more remote-model would be beneficial for some seminars & lectures, as sometimes you can find yourself travelling in for a 1-hour session. The expectancy to 'put yourself out there' for free is quite disturbing through a cost of living crisis. Constant expectancy of real life experience, without any regard for travel expenses, time spent not working to do the experience itself, percepts just how out-of-touch the higher-ups are when deciding course structure. UoH is a working class uni, and requiring minimum 80 hours to pass certain modules for free is quite disturbing and unfair. Even a maximum student loan payment only equates to just under 9k annually - they really expect you to set aside hours for free in this circumstance. I once attended a lecture that spoke about, wait for it... a clitorous stimulation game, for sports journalism - baffling & you find yourself feeling completely puzzled by some of the content you discuss. Zero course aftercare, no checking on you or what you're doing afterwards - so where they pull their statistics from is baffling. But to end on a positive, it's easily accessible by bus, car or train & the staff really do try their best for you, at any hour of the day. However, I would probably recommend investing time in a full time work route from the off, or maybe college digital marketing routes, over this.

Again, working for free so much isn't a fair expectation on working class students in this climate.
