The city itself feels very run down and dirty, which can be quite depressing at times but on the other hand the student body collectively make a huge effort to run and go to events and socials, which provides a really great diversion from studies and the city itself. The university itself is overcomplicated with several contracted subdepartments and too much bureaucracy, which makes it difficult for the students' Union to make changes or hold the university to account. However the courses at the uni are genuinely excellent and the lecturers/professors generally make a real effort to be engaging and useful.

Most lecturers and professors are engaged and enthusiastic which shows in their teaching, however the facilities are underfunded and a bit dingy in places.

The residences team and security team are appalling. They're rude and they barely do the bare minimum of their job. It's hard to get a response from them let alone any action. They pick and choose at random who to vilify, fine, punish etc but do little to prevent any actual problems or crimes from happening.

Best, I love the student hub they are very useful for careers advice and wellbeing help, I used them many times and they offered me lots of support. No bad things to say apart from some of the buildings feel quite old.

Lecturers always ready to reply to emails or see you in their contacts hours and the course is very enjoyable and allows you to take criminology and politics modules so you can customise how you want to.
