The close proximity to Scottish nature is good, certainly good for mental health. I found the professors and administrators to be very responsive and open to changes and adaptations for improvement. It has certainly become a more supportive and accessible place for me in my time here, with room for improvement. Reducing the number of neuro-divergent and disabled students that end up unable to finish their Honours degree or taking more years than their peers could be an area of improvement, but the same would apply for almost all UK universities.

The courses in 2022/23 have implemented many helpful changes that I greatly appreciate; such as guided reading questions, allocated time-slots for recorded lectures, in depth discussion of the assignments and expectations, and most of all the amount of time we get to discuss the topics thoroughly. It is a dense subject (reading-wise) and can sometimes be hard to keep up with - which is why the features mentioned above are greatly helpful.

Although Aberdeen is small, its student life is not lacking. I find great comfort in how safe the city is, especially compared to other student cities across the UK. While the cost of living is a struggle at the moment, the rent in Aberdeen is relatively reasonable. Getting around town is very easy, even when buses are not that reliable or on time - most things are within walking distance. Most of the diversity in town is either fellow students or people from overseas come to work in oil/gas.

I greatly appreciated the fact that Aberdeen Uni has its own "student village" where all the different dormitories get to live within proximity of each other, with facilities available for all. I remember the free donuts every Wednesday, and the wellbeing check-ins for people who might have gotten intoxicated and needed a medic. There were movie rooms we could book, a convenience store, bar/cafe, and so much that made it easy to socialise and get to know fellow students.

Lots of cafes, however more seating in them would be nice and maybe make them more known.

Personally I think there is a good amount of everything, better than in Canada.

The wifi doesn't load my videos on my laptop and often disconnects, I also wish it was a bit closer but it's not a bad location. The kitchen is great!
