I have found the staff and other students accepting and friendly. At first I had no idea where I was going and how to get there but people soon noticed and put me right even without my asking. I love the library and the fact I can use it more or less exactly when I want. I know the resources IT has recently been reviewed and updated and though I have had some issues , they have been addressed and sorted by the relevant staff..........and sometimes a neighbouring student. I like this place and find the atmosphere greatly conducive to getting on with my studies and 'enjoying the journey'

Bearing in mind I have been to two universities before Solent, I am able to judge that the access to people who can help to discuss employability and workplace skills is very good indeed. Information is easily gained from the portal and links and there are a variety of events where students may meet up with outside agencies and discuss up to the minute needs of and trends in the business world. The statistics regarding the employment status of past students are impressive.

I'm doing the MSc so it is a lot more autonomous than the undergrad course I've recently completed elsewhere. I like the discussion element to our lectures and the energy and interest of the lecturers in the students and their dissertation interests. I like the fact that lecturers respond quickly to emails. Cannot think of a downside, sorry.

Seeing as I am in my fifties, there are a lot of events that do not fit with my lifestyle as such. However I shall be joining the puppy event at the end of this month and would love to see comedy gigs and new music.

I think they are pretty good. I love the library and the IT people are really helpful and informative. I think our designated librarian, Hannah, is absolutely fantastic and so quick to help with queries. I am aware that the sports resources are fantastic though I am no longer an athlete so do not use them. I would have liked parking facilities as I have to park quite a way away from the buildings which is only difficult if I am carrying whacking great books around. The coffee bars are great and the staff are so obliging.

Well, since I live in this area I can say that there is something for everyone. If I lived in the centre or student acomodation near the centre, I would be out all the time. It's easy to access transport to most places although last year was a pig for the railways to be frank. There are music venues, the Mayflower, The Nuffield, bars and eateries for every taste and West Quay for shopping. It's a shame there are no buses out to the suburbs after a certain time at night as that would mean being able to access more of the night-life. It's a very multicultural city and there are loads of language schools to be found here.

I have not joined any so I cannot comment.

I find the staff to be interested and pro-active with regard to the well being of their students. They are quick to respond to mails and helpful with queries. I have not had to ask for help with emotional/private but would be able to find the help easily by asking at the Hub. The Hub is my 'go to' fro lots of things.
