There are 3 nice accommodation buildings which are over advertised (making people think this is the general standard) when the majority of the accommodation is poor quality and outdated Also a lot of the good features on campus were closed off due to RAAC issues and the alternatives are underwhelming- there has been no indication that they are working to fix the areas that are closed

It feels as though the majority of modules are a burden to staff and they seem to be resentful and as though it is a great hardship for them to do their job most of the time There are always mistakes on canvas and there is a lack of clarity on what is expected of students

For most of the year that i lived in halls the wifi did not work at all which made remote learning incredibly difficult The door to our flat didnt lock either so people could just walk in

The campus is beautiful. The university has been supportive both financially and mental health-wise when I've had difficulties. Unfortunately, the seating areas are inadequate for the number of students. The silent study area of the library needs to be supervised because it is certainly not even quiet most of the time, which means there is nowhere on campus I can go to get work done in peace.

It's been a very detached experience so far, but that could be Covid related. I do not feel part of the faculty of Social Sciences and they do not appear to be as active as other faculties within the university. The course content is interesting, although I have had my first in-person tutorials this year which have been poor with the lecturer turning up late every week and no structure to the session. 600 sociology students seems too many, I have definitely been made to feel like I am just a number. However, as I have said, the content is interesting and I am managing to engage well with it, albeit in isolation. They have put on some study skills workshops within the faculty this semester which have been good.
