I absolutely love everything about university and the student life and I’m looking forward to the rest of my studies. I’ve met so many friends for life and always have a laugh !

Career fairs, work placement opportunities, help with writing CV’s

We get a lot of opportunities to work both indivually as well as with other people

They offer a lot of different things, although I don’t use their services (due to no particular reason)

Very good, they are currently updating the library as well as building more lecture halls

Great - there’s lots to do and there’s never a dull or boring day/night

I’m not part of any society or club at the minute , even though I’d like to join some to meet more new people

We are always getting emails from our teachers about support and services provided. Also, if any student needs help or anything like that, we always know who to go to or who to ask for support

Overall my university experience has been a rollercoaster. I have had several issues outside of uni but my uni has been really accommodating and helpful in supporting me through these. They offer counselling which has been very helpful and my lecturers have gone above and beyond.

My university hold great careers fairs that host representatives from a wide range of sectors. They also promote really diverse graduate programmes. They also have a career support department that help with mock interviews, writing CVs and job opportunities.

I really like that most of my lecturers have high levels of expertise in their area and are producing really interesting research. They're also incredibly helpful. In most cases lecturers are really engaging as they're passionate about their content, and seminars focus upon really engaging discussion. One negative is that in some cases lecturers do just read from their power point slides and don't offer any additional information. It sometimes feels pointless attending as I could have just accessed that information on blackboard.

I don't really get involved with the student union. When I started university there wasn't a lot of information, and still isn't, about what's going on or how to get involved. I subscribed to be part of the Harry Potter Society in second year and attended a couple of events but there was no introductions or anything so I felt quite uncomfortable so stopped going. One thing the student union does really well is putting on events on certain days, such as St Patricks Day. They put on music, give out t-shirts, have stuff to do like the fake bull-riding and overall just put on a really fantastic day.

I think my universities facilities are really great. There are lots of cafes on campus, a subway and the shop has a wide range of things. My student union bar is really good and often puts on live music. The library is open 24/7 and has a great range of books and other resources. Also the whole campus has WiFi which is incredible.

Newcastle is amazing. Geordie's are the loveliest and friendliest people. There's so much to do in the city itself, but also in the surrounding area. Obviously the night life is incredible with so much range in places to go whether you prefer clubbing to chart music, indie music, classic pop, grime, d&b or more chilled nights just having a couple.

There's a wide range of societies available at my university, there's one for everyone. However, I tried to be a part of the Harry Potter Society but I didn't feel very welcome or included after a couple of weeks so I stopped going.

Academic support is great. My lecturers are so helpful. They offer office hours where we can go and speak to them about any of our concerns, and we have assigned personal tutors that assist us in any way they can. My uni also have reps for many different groups and offer counselling for mental health problems.
