The support available on campus out of hours is great because they’re open 24/7. The free Edge Link bus service is super useful for getting from uni to town and vice versa, but I wish it would run for longer on Saturdays and was available on Sundays as well.

The lecturers, seminar tutors and personal tutors are easily accessible by email, which is really good when you have questions about assessments or need general help with a module. It’s also nice that we have pre-recorded lecture content that we can look at if a lecture is cancelled (e.g. because of strike action) and all the guidance and content is also available in one place, making it really easy to find and navigate.

Due to the uni being located in a small town, everything is quite close and easily accessible - even more so with the free Edge Link bus service that goes between campus and town. In terms of social life, there aren’t many clubs to go to (only 1 or 2 main ones plus a load of pubs/bars including the SU bar), but there are quite a few social events. E.g. every Wednesday is socials night.

I like that my hall is really close (about a 5 minute’s walk away) to all of the buildings I have my lectures and seminars. The biggest inconvenience is that I have to go to the Student Union building to do my laundry and it’s really expensive (the cost adds up over the year) - £3.10 for the washer and £1.30 for the dryer. Sometimes the dryer doesn’t even work so you have to move it to another one and spend more money to dry it). Also currently living in a flat of 6 and we only have 1 small fridge to share between us in the kitchen (plus 2 small freezers, which is enough), although we do all have a mini fridge in our rooms but they don’t get as cold as the kitchen fridge.

Best - the environment, the university is very clean and modern Worst - the cost of university when the hours I am in a week doesn’t really justify the cost

Best - the tutors are experienced in their field and very informative and do try their best even with the strikes

Most - where I stayed was very modern and good value for money, the cleaner was very nice and helpful Worst - how loud the doors are when closing
