The lecturers are extremely supportive and encourage us to use all the resources available to us as pastor of our university experience e.g. Talent Team, Centre for Academic Writing. All of these services are very helpful and provide extra support and help with employability. Assignments are fair and you are able to cater them to suit your interests e.g. being given an assignment brief and being able to choose the specific topic to relate to the question. Marking is also very fair, although some comments could be more detailed, but this has been discussed with those lecturers and change has been proposed.

Lecturers are very supportive and quick to respond to questions both in person and via email. I do sometimes wish that there was more contact time through seminars and lectures as I feel there is sometimes more that could be discussed each week but with only 2 sessions a week per module time is limited. Also, whilst we have discussed and evaluated on our employability and how sociology can help with this, I do wish more focus was given on perhaps the types of jobs we could go into with this degree - more in depth than just mentioning police work, social work etc - specific roles and examples.

There are lots of things to do and places to go to connect with other students around campus and the city more broadly. Some of the buildings are in quite scary places at night e.g. having to go under dark tunnels or pathways to get through.
