Beautiful campus with great educational, social, and extracurricular opportunities. Being able to take elective subjects broadens your ability to understand topics from different points of view and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. Extracurriculars which can suit anybody and any specific interests, also great for beginners who want to take on new challenges. I would say that the university’s avenues of support should be more accessible and have more funding - with such a huge student body this is vital. Those struggling with their mental health or require extra assistance with a physical disability should know that they have somewhere to go with any queries or concerns straight away. Though these are available, they should be advertised around the university a lot more so people know that they have a direct network of support which they can access whenever they may need it.

Best - the course content, class discussions in seminars, interactive nature of learning. A bottom up perspective on history, politics, and culture directly connects with me as a working class student and someone who is interested in the history of people. Email response times are usually on the same day which is hugely valuable and appreciated. Worst - appealing a late deadline is very strict which I understand however even students facing technical difficulties are denied any lenience which is quite disheartening if a student has put a lot of effort into an assignment with a fault obstructing a hand in which was no fault of their own - I understand that this is a university wide policy and not a fault of my course administration however it is something me and my peers have experienced in the past and have felt was unfair.

Best - people I met, was in refurbished flat, always felt safe, cleaners were efficient and always lovely Worst - poor wifi with days where it wouldn’t work at all even close to deadlines (considering technical issues aren’t counted as an excuse for lateness this was poor), value for money was alright except between 12 of us only 1 toilet worked for the majority of the year drainage issues all round.

Flexible fees payments plan and worse is the delay for my payments to be applied to my account.
