The ESH department at Glasgow Uni are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I’ve always been given support when I’ve reached out. Classes are engaging and there is a huge choice and flexibility in what courses you choose to study while you’re here. Glasgow is currently going though a housing crisis which has massively impacted student life here. Inflation in the UK means prices for groceries, social life, etc have gone up substantially in the last year while wages are the same. I work to put myself through Uni and the financial side of studying here has been a nightmare over my degree.

The department is engaging and approachable. Over the last 3 years I have studied history regarding the world as a whole, Britain, wider Europe, the USA, Middle East, and Cuba. Theory and seminars have been really eye-opening too. The course is currently taught through online pre-recorded lectures combined with in-person seminars each week. You would take 3 courses each semester, so that equates to 9 hrs of lectures and 3 in-person discussion groups. I wish the course had more contact hours because during online teaching, and taking fees into account, I wish I was learning more per semester.

Loving the great balance of academic life, social life, and the city's vibe. The academic facilities are world-class and it has a very good reputation internationally.

It is an institution with world class facilities that keeps improving. They actually listen to your needs and feedbacks.

The student support here is great. The unions provide support just as much as the University. They consider matters such as being an international student, studying with dependants, disabilities and equality issues. It is even considered as the most LGBT friendly campus in the whole UK. The staffs are very responsive and helpful.

Four student unions are definitely better than one ;)

Glasgow is UNESCO's city of music filled with music venues to cater to everyone's liking. From jazz pubs, indie music venues to world class concert hall. Added with free museums that dotted the city and gorgeous architecture, it is undoubtedly a cultural capital. Despite being a big city, it's a relatively affordable place for students.

The university has more than 250 affiliated clubs and societies spread across its 4 student unions, there's definitely something for everyone.

The courses are so diverse and you can do a mixture of a lot of things at once here. So you'll have a lot of opportunities to learn new stuffs such as languages. You can even do a study abroad year or exchange programmes as a part of your degree as well.

The career services here is so helpful. It caters a wide range of student needs, from CV building to interview skills. It also provides a range of job types such as part-time jobs, volunteering jobs, internships to graduate placements.

University accommodations are a bit off campus and the quality can be questionable. But there are more options around campus such as shared flats or private halls. The University has housing services and one of the student unions can help you with housing issues as well.
