The ESH department at Glasgow Uni are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I’ve always been given support when I’ve reached out. Classes are engaging and there is a huge choice and flexibility in what courses you choose to study while you’re here. Glasgow is currently going though a housing crisis which has massively impacted student life here. Inflation in the UK means prices for groceries, social life, etc have gone up substantially in the last year while wages are the same. I work to put myself through Uni and the financial side of studying here has been a nightmare over my degree.

The department is engaging and approachable. Over the last 3 years I have studied history regarding the world as a whole, Britain, wider Europe, the USA, Middle East, and Cuba. Theory and seminars have been really eye-opening too. The course is currently taught through online pre-recorded lectures combined with in-person seminars each week. You would take 3 courses each semester, so that equates to 9 hrs of lectures and 3 in-person discussion groups. I wish the course had more contact hours because during online teaching, and taking fees into account, I wish I was learning more per semester.
