I am currently studying my Master’s degree and, although I deferred a year, the support I received to return to my studies was exceptional. As an autistic student, I have felt genuinely listened to and supported throughout my time at the university. The SEN and wellbeing support have been incredibly strong, with staff going above and beyond to make adjustments, check in regularly, and ensure I felt confident and able to continue my studies.
What really stands out is the sense of community. It is a small, welcoming university where you feel safe, valued and known as an individual rather than just a number. I have also received fantastic support from the Futures team, who have helped me develop and think through my future business ideas alongside my studies, which has been hugely motivating and empowering.
Overall, this is a supportive, inclusive and nurturing place to study, particularly for students who may need additional understanding or flexibility. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a university where student wellbeing and personal development are genuinely prioritised.

The course has been well structured and thoughtfully delivered, with a good balance between taught sessions, independent study and opportunities for discussion. Teaching staff are approachable, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in student progress, which makes it easy to ask for support or clarification when needed.
As a Master’s student, I have appreciated the flexibility within the course, particularly after deferring a year. Adjustments were handled sensitively and communication from lecturers was clear and supportive, which made returning to study feel manageable and positive. The blended learning approach works well and allows for flexibility alongside other commitments.
The subject facilities and resources are strong, and the small cohort size means teaching feels personalised rather than generic. Feedback on assignments is constructive and helps you develop both academically and professionally.
There are very few negatives, but at times deadlines can cluster, which can feel intense. However, staff are understanding and supportive when this is raised. Overall, it is a high-quality course that feels inclusive, well supported and academically rigorous.
