The lecturers are really easy to talk to and it’s very easy to get help when you are struggling.

Being face to face is better and makes it easier to ask questions and can get answers to emails quickly

The rooms are a good size however my accommodation didn’t have a clear recycling and rubbish bin in the kitchen so I had to bring one in to make sure recycling and rubbish weren’t being mixed together

However, it could improve by offering more tailored resources for foundation year students, enhancing timetabling and feedback processes, and fostering better social integration between foundation and higher-year students. Improvements to digital platforms could also enhance the overall student experience.

The best thing about the Psychology Foundation course at the University of Sunderland is how it helps you build a strong understanding of the basics, with supportive lecturers who are always there to help. I also really liked the small class sizes because it made it easier to interact and ask questions. On the downside, some parts of the course felt a bit too basic, especially if you already have some knowledge of psychology. Also, moving on to the main degree can feel a bit overwhelming without extra guidance. Overall, it’s a good starting point if you want to study psychology.
