The sussex uni campus is based in such a beautiful area. The beach is a short while away as are many walks through the south downs, which are both brilliant ways to relax during stressful times. At present there is lots of construction work on campus, which is an eyesore and makes navigating campus more difficult. It's also noisy meaning it can be difficult to find quiet areas to sit outside and concentrate. The physics course is interesting and for the most part the teaching is good. Most of the department staff are very understanding and happy to support with studies. The disability support team are incredible and have ensured I have everything that I could need during my studies. Overall, I'd say it's good to study at Sussex. The construction is having a negative impact on my experience, but I'd hope that in a couple years time students will have a better experience.

The physics course is taught in person, with an online hour once a week to support our career prospects. Most of the lecturers are very clear in their teaching and provide lots of resources for further practice and research. Unfortunately some of the lecturers are rude and disrespectful towards students but this is certainly the minority.

The area is very pretty but doesn't feel particularly safe. There is lots of public transport into the main city, both by train and bus. Brighton is very diverse.

Northfield is situated roughly a 15 minute walk from the centre of campus, which is far enough that it isn't as busy. The back of Northfield is surrounded by beautiful views of rolling hills. There is a bus stop just a short walk from the accommodations which goes to the middle of campus for free. It is a safe accommodation, although isn't particularly well lit along the pathways to buildings. The rooms have double locks on the doors, and passes are needed to access both the building and the individual flat. The room allocation is alright, although I did request a quiet flat due to disability and was placed in the closest one to the bar which was particularly noisy each night. They do offer same-sex flats and flats for families. The wifi connection is awful. It is very unstable meaning that studies are difficult to do from your flat. The ethernet cables also don't work, so often it's necessary to go to the library to complete work. Since last year the price of the flats has increased fairly drastically, especially given the decrease in wifi stability and the fact that there are no extra amenities. The porters are rarely in the office for assistance, and when they are in they can be rude.
